Well it would seem that the TWRA's decision hasnt slowed the hogs down in Morgan County Tennessee. Here where we live we noticed last year that the hogs had spread over a range of several miles and were now along an adjacent mountain rage that borders the Coal Creek OHV. That spread was around 3 air miles southward of their last known location. Today we learn that the hogs are now about 1 mile farther than that and ends up right in our own back yard. Three hogs were killed just 1/4 miles south of our home and were reported to have been causing some extensive damage to the landowners property. I suppose TWRA will chalk this one up to someone relocating them, you think?

The new hog hunting regulations are still a hot topic of debate in the hunting community. We share the same sentiment with our fellow hunters, we want this decision reversed. In this podcast I share some of my thoughts on the new regulations and announce my plans for an upcoming live talk show based on this controversial decision made by the TWRA staff.

One has to wonder just how the new hog hunting regulations will effect the guide services who make a living from the hog hunting here in Tennessee. The new regulations have a huge impact on the business and we have been in touch with local hunting lodges asking them for their opinions.
Marie Morris of www.appalachia-adventures.com and www.angelfire.com/tn/farner said "Since the new regulations came out concerning hog hunting, I seem to have gotten more email requests from hunters who want to hunt hogs. Last year and the first of this year, the requests were for bear hunts." So the competetion for the limited ten spots per land owner may drive the price of hog hunting into never before seen prices.
Officials of the Loshbough Hunting Lodge and www.tnboar.com said "We are actively involved in trying to get the rights given back to hunters. We will support the right to hunt!" They too like ourselves are fighting for our rights to hunt these animals. Surely TWRA would have realized that this decision will have a huge impact on the revenues that hog hunting generated.
Either way, the new hog hunting regulations will have an impact but the extent of that impact is still not know. This good be a good thing or a very bad thing depending on how you look at it. We have opened the discussions on this topic so please feel free to use the comments section and let us know what you think.
